We've had a great week so far- fall weather is here, and fall cooking continues. Pictured below are the before and after shots of the cinnamon rolls the winner of our contest received (one before the icing, and one after, because they are just so beautiful). We also embraced fall flavors by baking a pumpkin chocolate chip bread. The loft has never smelled so good.
While in the grocery store, we stumbled upon a new ingredient in the produce department: jicama! As Bobby Flay describes it, jicama has the texture of an apple with the flavor closer to a potato. We used the mandolin to finely slice it, and simply added corn, avocado, olive oil, and a cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Super refreshing and healthy. Finally, Pioneer Woman posted her recipe for Chicken Cacciatore, and we tried it out last night. Such rich flavor! We put our own spin on it by not frying the chicken (just sautee), and serving it on a bed of whole wheat pasta. You can find that recipe here:

This blog is getting a major face lift in the weeks to come, and we'd like to know what you'd like to see. More recipes? Less pictures? More links? More contests? Just leave a comment at the bottom of this post, and let us know! Thanks for your feedback!
